PROTEGER A INFÂNCIA É GARANTIR FUTUROS LIVRES E SEGUROS

“Uma criança ou rapariga não nasceu para ser esposa, nem um rapaz para ser marido. Nasceram para aprender, crescer, sonhar e construir o seu próprio caminho. Casar cedo não é proteger, é limitar. Proteger uma criança é garantir-lhe direitos, dignidade e a oportunidade de decidir o seu futuro no tempo certo”, partilhou Anila Macamo, de 22 anos de idade, durante a campanha interpessoal realizada no distrito de Xai-Xai, província de Gaza.
A campanha decorreu numa paragem de transporte público de grande circulação e alcançou cerca de 375 pessoas, com idades compreendidas entre os 10 e os 66 anos. O espaço permitiu uma interacção directa com a comunidade, promovendo momentos de diálogo, escuta e reflexão sobre os impactos das Uniões Prematuras e da violência baseada no género.
Ao longo das actividades, os activistas reforçaram a necessidade de eliminar normas sociais nocivas que continuam a limitar o futuro de muitas raparigas, defendendo o direito à educação, à liberdade de escolha e à protecção integral das crianças e mulheres. A acção procurou ainda incentivar uma maior responsabilidade colectiva na prevenção das Uniões Prematuras e na construção de comunidades mais seguras e conscientes.
A campanha foi promovida no âmbito do projecto Escolhas que Transformam Vidas, implementado pela ASCHA com o apoio técnico e financeiro da Girls First Fund, através do programa CHANGEMAKERS, com o objectivo de fortalecer as acções de prevenção e combate às Uniões Prematuras.

PROTECTING CHILDHOOD IS GUARANTEEING FREE AND SECURE FUTURES
“A child or girl wasn’t born to be a wife, nor a boy to be a husband. They were born to learn, grow, dream, and build their own path. Marrying young isn’t protecting, it’s limiting. Protecting a child is guaranteeing them rights, dignity, and the opportunity to decide their future at the right time,” shared Anila Macamo, 22, during an interpersonal campaign held in the Xai-Xai district, Gaza province.
The campaign took place at a busy public transport hub and reached approximately 375 people, aged between 10 and 66. The space allowed for direct interaction with the community, promoting moments of dialogue, listening, and reflection on the impacts of early unions and gender-based violence.
Throughout the activities, activists reinforced the need to eliminate harmful social norms that continue to limit the future of many girls, defending the right to education, freedom of choice, and the comprehensive protection of children and women. The action also sought to encourage greater collective responsibility in preventing preterm unions and building safer and more conscious communities.
The campaign was promoted within the framework of the Choices That Transform Lives project, implemented by ASCHA with the technical and financial support of Girls First Fund, through the CHANGEMAKERS program, with the aim of strengthening actions to prevent and combat preterm unions.
